I Have 422 Friends Yet I Am lonely – Look Up

This video is actually a love story, written by Gary Turk, told against the backdrop of the way Social Media has taken over our lives.

It is not a story about not accepting change and the advance of social media, it is a story about keeping the reality of technology in perspective.

I have 422 friends, yet I am lonely.

I speak to all of them every day, yet none of them really know me.

When you are talking to someone electronically it is so easy to only show your good points and your successes. This is actually creating a world where so many people feel inferior and that they aren’t as successful as everyone else. In reality they are only seeing a selective segment of other people’s lives not the whole reality.

Why not make a point of having a technology free day at least once a week or even once a month and reconnect with the people around you. You will experience the emotions that go with these interactions but in reality this is how you grow.

Why not have a look at this video I made recently asking “What are you grateful for today? http://youtu.be/0R0ip56Ju5c
